Amongst the young olive groves, vineyards and orchards, at only one km from the Terme di Saturnia arises the suggestive Podere Santa Croce, immersed in the hearth of ’Italy that breathes’. Besides the wild beauty of the landscape, the fascination of the place lies in its mysterious origins. After careful restructuring works in accordance with the Tuscany architectural characteristics and with the surrounding environment, today the stone farmhouse, probably an old oratory, reconciles the ancient flavour with all the modern comforts.
Conceived as an ideal place to run away from the noisy daily life, the Podere gives the opportunity to go for a ride in order to discover a nearly uncontaminated nature. On the way back from the excursions to the medieval villages set in the neighbourhood, the relax of the guests goes on in front of the fireplace in the reading room or in the comfortable cafè room.
At night a homely and folk-art style restaurant is the ideal place to spend very pleasant evenings tasting the typical Tuscany dishes accompanied by local wines such as the famous Morellino di Scansano.
The Podere Santa Croce gives the opportunity to go on holiday in all four seasons. From May to September the panoramic swimming pool at the foot of Montemerano offers a cool relief to the guests coming back from the Terme di Saturnia or from the wonderful beaches of the Argentario only forty km faraway.
